In-place inclinometers for continuous ground movement monitoring
BH-Profile in-place inclinometers support continuous remote monitoring of casing deformation caused by active soil movement, using MEMS IPI probes and digital data acquisition options.
Continuous borehole deformation monitoring
Borehole profile in-place inclinometers are used where soil movement, excavation behaviour, slope deformation or retaining wall movement need to be monitored continuously rather than through occasional manual readings.
The BH-Profile chain combines MEMS IPI probes, carbon fibre extension rods and a terminal wheel assembly, with digital RS-485 output for connection to remote logging and data management systems.
Where IPI systems are used
In-place inclinometer systems help project teams track lateral movement frequently, automatically and with a clear data trail.
Slopes and landslides
Track active ground movement and deformation trends over time.
Deep excavations
Monitor retaining systems, excavation influence and ground response.
Retaining walls
Support construction risk management and movement trigger levels.
Civil structures
Monitor movement around infrastructure, tunnels and embankments.
From instrument chain to usable monitoring data
An IPI system should be selected around the measurement objective, casing configuration, expected movement range, logging requirement and project reporting workflow.

Instrument chain
MEMS IPI probes connect to extension rods to form the monitoring chain at 0.5m, 1m, 2m or 3m spacing.

Logging options
Connect to OMNIAlog dataloggers with connectivity or other wireless systems for remote acquisition.

Monitoring workflow
Data can support trend review, trigger levels, automated alerts, reporting and construction decisions.
